Energy consumption data shows that in Warehouse No. 14, the axial fan operated for 50 days, averaging 15 hours per day, totaling 750 hours. In contrast, Warehouse No. 28 used the axial fan for 6 days, totaling 126 hours, achieving an average moisture reduction of 1.0% and a temperature drop of 20.3 degrees, with a unit energy consumption of 0.038 kWh/t°C.
The advantages of using an axial flow fan for slow ventilation include a good cooling effect, low energy consumption, ease of controlling ventilation timing, and minimal risk of condensation. Additionally, no separate fan is required, making the process more convenient and flexible. However, there are some disadvantages: the airflow is limited, so the ventilation process takes longer, and the drying effect is not as strong, making it unsuitable for high-moisture grains.
On the other hand, centrifugal fans offer a more noticeable cooling and drying effect, with shorter ventilation times. However, they consume more energy and are harder to manage in terms of timing.
In conclusion, when the goal is to cool the grain, an axial flow fan is ideal for safe, efficient, and energy-saving slow ventilation. For the purpose of drying or precipitation, a centrifugal fan is more suitable.
