The First Fujian Coal Mine Rescue Technology Competition

On June 25th, the first Fujian Coal Mine Rescue Technology Competition was officially launched in Yongding at the Fengneng Group Ampere Center. Organized by the Fujian Provincial Energy Group and co-organized by the Fujian Coal & Electric Power Company, the event was hosted by the Fujian Coal Supervision Bureau, the Provincial General Trade Union, and the Provincial Party Committee. Key figures such as Tian Deyu, Deputy Director of the National Mine Rescue Command Center, Dai Wenpeng, Deputy Director of the Fujian Coal Supervision Bureau, and Lai Yonglong, Deputy Head of Longyan City, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The event was presided over by Zhou Bixin, Deputy Chief of the Fujian Energy Group.

The competition, themed "Chinese Dreams and the Beauty of Labor," brought together 11 mine rescue teams and 77 participants from across the province. It featured a variety of challenging events, including business theory exams, military-style drills, physical fitness tests, simulated disaster relief operations, medical emergency responses, and respirator operations. Top-performing teams and individuals will be awarded prestigious honors such as the "Fujian Province May 1st Labour Award," "Fujian Provincial Worker Pioneer," and "Fujian Province Outstanding Young Post Expert." The competition ran from June 25th to June 27th, spanning three days of intense activities.

In recent years, the party committees, governments, and energy groups in coal-producing areas of Fujian have placed significant emphasis on mine safety and emergency response. They have actively promoted the development of emergency rescue systems, providing essential support in terms of personnel, funding, equipment, and benefits. Currently, there are 11 professional coal mine rescue teams and 218 trained mine rescue commanders. Since their establishment, these teams have carried out 1,095 rescue missions, saving 920 people in distress. Among them, 283 were successfully rescued by the Su Sheng team, earning widespread praise from the local community.

In his speech, Dai Wenpeng highlighted that this competition is a practical step in implementing President Xi Jinping's instructions on safety production and the spirit of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. He emphasized that the event will be held every two years moving forward. He also expressed hope that all participants would not only enhance their skills but also foster mutual learning, teamwork, and friendship, turning the competition into a platform for unity, cooperation, and shared success.

Representatives from the Fujian Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau, Fujian Coal Supervision Bureau, Fujian Federation of Trade Unions, the Communist Youth League of Fujian Province, the Longyan Municipal Government, the Fujian Safety Production Emergency Rescue Center, and officials from coal-producing cities and counties were present at the opening ceremony. They also watched the competition closely, showing strong support for the event.
