Domestic large gear processing machine tools and tools
Domestic large gears are mainly used in mining machinery, metallurgical machinery and ships. At present, large gear processing machines have low processing efficiency and poor surface quality of processed products. Compared with foreign gear processing equipment, there is a certain gap between the stability and rigidity of domestic gear processing machines and tool cutting performance, tool life and accuracy.

External gear machining tool
(1) scraping hob (see Figure 1)
It is mainly used for hardened gears with hardness of (62±2) HRC after heat treatment, and the precision can reach DIN3972 Level 6. The advantage is high processing accuracy and efficiency, and good economy. With the permission of precision, it is possible to replace the gear grinding machine with a normal gear hobbing machine.
(2) Heavy-duty double-cut roughing hob (see Figure 2)
It is equipped with a set of negative cutting blades in the standard hob form for large-scale cutting of metal. It is suitable for gear roughing of large modulus, multi-tooth number and large tooth width. Its advantages are high feed, high efficiency, long life, and it is a commonly used tool for existing large gears.
(3) Indexable carbide hob (see Figure 3)
The ordinary alloy steel is used as the body and then inserted into the indexable cemented carbide insert. Can be divided into single hob and double hob. The tool is free of regrind, heavy-duty coating, and no re-knives. The blade can be directly edged on the machine and easy to operate. The advantage is high speed and high efficiency. Its efficiency is about 5 times that of heavy-duty double-cut hob, which greatly improves the utilization of machine tools, and is very suitable for dry cutting. It is the first choice for modern mass, high-efficiency production and green processing. Processing of large and medium-sized hobbing in China.
(4) Rough finishing system (see Figure 4) A processing system that combines roughing and finishing. The advantage is to further shorten the processing time, thereby greatly improving the processing efficiency.
