For small and complex parts, it is machined with DMU monoBLOCK® and DMU eVo series 5-axis universal machines. The CNC technology can adapt to any workpiece size requirement.

The fuselage includes structural members, integral components, and fixtures that are crucial for aircraft performance. Machining trusses, ribs, and stringers often involves one-piece, integral milling. Riveting remains the primary connection method, so all components—including carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) parts—require precise drilling.

The wing relies heavily on cutting technology for ribs, trusses, and fasteners, many of which are made of metal. Complex geometric parts require contouring, and numerous rivet holes must be drilled. However, as CFRP becomes more common, some machining requirements may decrease due to its lighter weight and structural advantages.

The door is produced using two main methods: either through investment casting followed by further processing or via direct machining. For CFRP hatches, the joints are typically made from titanium alloy and must be formed from metal.

The tail fin now largely uses CFRP, but the joints, reinforcements, and leading edges are still made from metal. All parts require boring to ensure proper fit and function.

The landing gear is currently made from high-alloy steel, but future models may shift toward titanium alloys. These materials require high-precision machining. Similarly, aircraft engine parts vary significantly in material depending on their location. Low-temperature zones, such as the low-pressure compressor, often use titanium or aluminum alloys, while high-temperature areas, like the turbine blades, rely on nickel-based and cobalt alloys for heat resistance.

In addition to traditional machining, laser processing is being increasingly used in engine production. It is particularly effective for creating cold vents in turbine blades and burner components, with shaped holes often produced through laser drilling (laser ablation injectors).
