Foam packaging is a packaging made of foam. The so-called plastic foam packaging mainly refers to the thermal processing of expandable polystyrene (EPS) raw materials through a mold, and the manufactured packaging products are commonly called "foam". Expandable polystyrene is an ideal packaging material, which can be processed into various shapes and thicknesses of packaging products according to the molding process. In the case of high load, the material achieves the functions of buffering and damping through deformation, energy absorption, and energy decomposition, and has the functions of heat preservation and heat insulation. EPS packaging products are generally white, and can be produced in color according to requirements. The main use characteristics of foam packaging: light weight, ability to absorb impact load, good thermal insulation performance, good sound insulation performance, anti-aging, corrosion performance, anti-static properties. 1, light weight. Part of the space of the EPS packaging product is replaced by gas, which contains 3 to 6 million independent closed bubbles per cubic centimeter. Therefore, it is several times to several tens of times larger than plastic.
2. It has the ability to absorb impact loads. When the EPS packaging product is subjected to an impact load, the gas in the foam passes through the stagnation and compression, so that the external energy is consumed and dissipated, and the bubble body gradually terminates the impact load with a small negative acceleration, thereby having a better anti-shock effect.
3. Good thermal insulation performance. The thermal conductivity is a weighted average of pure EPS thermal conductivity (108 cal/mh °C) and air thermal conductivity (around 90 cal/mh °C).
4, sound insulation performance is good. The sound insulation of EPS products mainly passes through two ways, one is to absorb sound energy, reduce reflection and transmission; the other is to eliminate resonance and reduce noise.
5, anti-aging, corrosion performance. Except for prolonged exposure to high energy radiation, the product has no obvious aging. Can withstand many chemicals, such as dilute acid, dilute alkali, methanol, lime, asphalt and so on.
6, anti-static performance. Since the EPS product has low conductivity, it is easy to generate self-charge phenomenon in the friction, which will not affect the general user products. For high-precision electronic products, especially large-scale integrated block structural components of modern electrical appliances, anti-static EPS products should be used.
