- Lithium-based grease or molybdenum disulfide grease
- Lamp oil or diesel (500 ml)
- Waste cloth or old clothes
- Washbasin
- Parts storage box
- Repair tools
- Marker pen
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Choose a windless day for the job and park the vehicle on a flat surface. Engage the hand brake and open the parking brake to prevent any movement.
- Loosen the front and rear wheel bolts in a diagonal order on both sides.
- Use a jack to lift one side of the wheel and secure it with an iron triangle bracket or wooden block. Repeat for the other side.
- Remove the loosened bolts from the parts storage box and set them aside.
- Take off the front or rear wheel carefully.
- Remove the brake pads and mark the left and right sides with a marker for proper reinstallation.
- Take off the bearing cover and remove the hub fixing bolts and pins.
- Loosen and remove the bolts from the bearing assembly.
- Inspect the bearing as shown in the diagram. If it is severely worn, replace it immediately.
- If the bearing is still in good condition, clean it using fire oil or diesel to remove dirt and debris.
- Apply grease evenly to the bearing surfaces before reinstalling them.
- Tighten the hub bolts and place the assembly back into position.
- Rotate the bearing to check if it moves freely or feels tight. Adjust as necessary until it is properly secured.
- Reinstall the hub bolts and secure the pins. Replace the bearing cover.
- Clean the brake disc thoroughly with a clean cloth, removing any oil or residue.
- Inspect the brake disc for damage. If damaged, repair or replace it promptly.
- Reinstall the front wheel and tighten the bolts in a diagonal pattern.
- Repeat the same process for the other side of the vehicle.
- Lower the vehicle using the jack, remove the support blocks, and let the wheels touch the ground.
- Tighten all tire bolts in a diagonal pattern using a wrench, ensuring a torque of at least 40 kg.
This task typically takes about 2-3 hours for a single person to complete. Regular maintenance like this not only improves the performance of your vehicle but also enhances safety and reduces the risk of unexpected failures.
