Tsinghua University is developing sweet sorghum ethanol extraction technology

Last year, sales of biofuels worldwide were 95.2 billion U.S. dollars, wind power was 73.8 billion U.S. dollars, and photovoltaic power generation was 79.7 billion U.S. dollars. Li Shizhong believes that biofuels are expected to be worth $177.7 billion over ten years, while wind power will be $124.7 billion, and solar and photovoltaic power generation will be $123.7 billion.

He disclosed that Tsinghua University is currently developing technology to extract ethanol from sweet sorghum. Sweet sorghum can absorb heavy metals in the soil.
