Accelerating the manufacturing process and saving costs also includes another important trend in the effective connection between reality and the virtual world. The link is called measurement technology: a very fast measurement system is used to collect the data, and then the measured data is directly input to the CAD system for further processing. This trend can be clearly seen at the European Mould Expo through a large number of new products from exhibitors. CAD/CAM supplier Tebis even built a complete scanning studio on its measuring platform, digitizing the prototype car with scanner suppliers GOM, Steinbichler and Konica Minolta and entering the measurement data into Tebis-CAD In the system. Before being converted to a CAD surface by a special surface generation software (Rapid-Surface-Creation), the measurement data needs to be processed by filtering, smoothing, and the like. This surface can be modified and reconverted to a solid surface by milling and milling. Re-checking and measuring at any time, this repetitive process can achieve very good results quickly. The combination of CAD and measurement technology is particularly tight, linking Revworks to Solidworks. Start with the measurement and then come out of the CAD system to produce a Solidworks geometry. Points, lines, arcs, radii, ellipses, rectangles, splines, etc. can be digitized in the rough model of the CAD system. If you want to create a basic geometry, you can immediately generate model entities by turning or extending, and Solidworks can generate all solutions including full parameterization.

Correct and fast milling with new CAM technology

The application of data management in the form of PDM (Product Data Management) system in the general machine manufacturing industry is earlier than in the mold and tool manufacturing industry, and the application is quite extensive. MTC Software Systems believes that there are many similar processes in mold and tool manufacturing that can be effectively supported by PDM. On the one hand, MTC provides the right software system with Pro/E-Hypermill and Winchill, and on the other hand, it designs its own molds and tools through sister company ATC.
In addition to pure CAD model and drawing management, PDM can manage many other processes and processes. These can begin with a record of the first meeting with the client and may not end with a document with the first sample.
The PDM system can be configured by the supplier like MTC as much as possible for the actual situation of the user, and can be applied very conveniently in the subsequent practical work.
