4) Connection of PP-R pipe
Can be welded, hot melt and threaded connections. Among them, the hot melt connection is the most reliable, the operation is convenient, the airtightness is good, and the interface strength is high. The pipeline connection of this project uses a handheld fusion splicer for hot melt connection.
Before connecting, remove dust and foreign matter from pipes and accessories.
The pipeline connection uses a fusion splicer to heat the pipe and fittings. The depth of heat fusion of the pipe and fittings should meet the requirements.
When connected, the end of the tube is inserted into the heating jacket without rotation to a predetermined depth. At the same time, the tube is pushed onto the heating head without heating, and immediately after the heating time is reached, the tube and the tube are removed from the heating sleeve and the heating head simultaneously, and the tube is quickly and uniformly inserted into the required depth without rotation. A uniform flange is formed at the joint. In the specified heating time, the just-welded joint can also be corrected, but it must not be rotated. Properly push the heated pipe and fittings into vertical alignment and do not apply excessive force to prevent bending of the elbow.
After the connection is completed, the pipe and fittings must be held tight for a sufficient cooling time. After cooling to a certain degree, they can be released.
When the PP-R pipe is connected with the metal pipe fittings, a PP-R pipe with a metal insert shall be used as a transition. The pipe fitting and the PP-R pipe shall be connected by hot melt socket and be connected with metal pipe fittings or hardware accessories of sanitary ware. When using screw connections, polypropylene tape should be used as a seal filler. When installing, do not use excessive force so as not to damage the screw fittings and cause leakage at the joints.
5) When installing pipes, especially when installing hot water pipes, consider the thermal expansion factor of the pipes. When the pipes are connected, use the pipe turning and bending angles to compensate the expansion and contraction of the pipes when the pipes are connected. When natural compensation is used, the pipe supports are used for sliding brackets, but they are not provided. The maximum length of the straight pipe fixing the bracket shall not exceed 3m. 6) When the pipeline cannot use natural compensation, the pipeline uses a fixed bracket to limit thermal expansion.
7) The pipe supports shall be laid before the pipes are installed. The pipe clamps and hangers shall be installed according to different pipe diameters and requirements. The location shall be accurate and shall be laid flat. The pipe cards shall be in close contact with the pipes and shall not damage the pipe surface. When using a metal tube card, the metal tube card should be isolated from the pipe with a soft material such as plastic. In the connection of the metal pipe fittings and the water supply PP-R pipe, the pipe clamp should be located on the side of the metal pipe. In the water supply equipment such as valves, water meters, etc., there should be a fixed bracket, and its weight should not act on the pipeline.
