How to apply base fertilizer and fertilizer to corn

The corn base fertilizer should be based on organic fertilizer, and the amount of base fertilizer generally accounts for 60% to 70% of the total fertilization amount. High-yield corn in the north, the amount of organic fertilizer used in base fertilizer is generally 60-75 tons per hectare. The method of applying the base fertilizer should be adapted to local conditions. When the base fertilizer is sufficient, it can be ploughed and turned into soil. If the fertilizer is insufficient, it can be applied in all ditch or hole. Concentrated fertilization is beneficial to crop absorption, reducing loss and high fertilizer utilization.

Phosphorus and potassium fertilizers have good effect as base fertilizer. Superphosphate is used as base fertilizer, and the dosage per hectare is 225-375 kg. It should be mixed with organic fertilizer or applied after heap rot. Potassium sulphate is used as the base fertilizer, and the dosage per hectare is 112-150 kg, which can be mixed with organic fertilizer.

Because the early sowing of summer crops is the key to increasing production, summer corn is often too late to apply fertilizer. Generally, when the former crops (such as wheat) are planted, the base fertilizer is applied, and the nutrients required for the summer corn are used for the post-effect. Under the premise of not affecting the early sowing, using the decomposed and high-quality farmyard manure to apply the base fertilizer to the summer corn by means of ditch application and acupoint application is beneficial to increase production.

The application of seed fertilizer in corn has obvious effect on increasing yield, and generally can increase yield by about 10%. In the case of thin land, insufficient base fertilizer or no base fertilizer, the yield increase effect of the seed fertilizer is greater. The fertilizer is mainly composed of quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer, and appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is used as appropriate. The decomposed high-quality farmyard manure can also be used as a seed fertilizer. It can supplement and replace part of the base fertilizer when the summer corn is not enough to apply the base fertilizer. Nitrogen fertilizer for ammonium fertilizer, ammonium nitrate is better, 37.5 ~ 75 kg of ammonium sulfate per hectare or 22.5 ~ 45 kg of ammonium nitrate, such as with superphosphate, the ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus is 2:1 or 1: 1 is good. The mixed fertilizer is applied to the side of the seed, 4 to 5 cm from the seed, and the hole or strip can be applied. Direct contact with seeds should be avoided to prevent burning.
