According to Xinhua News Agency, the European Commission is weakening its position to extend anti-dumping duties on Chinese PV products due to previous proposals from the majority of EU member states. It is proposed to shorten the extension period from 24 months to 18 months.
The European Commission will discuss this issue at the meeting on the 8th. There are documents showing that the European Commission has proposed to extend the anti-dumping duty on China's photovoltaic products by 18 months, and has indicated that this measure will be phased out thereafter. The European Commission will make a final decision on the case on March 3.
Since December 2013, the European Commission has imposed a maximum anti-dumping duty of 64.9% on imported Chinese PV products and a countervailing duty of up to 11.5% for a period of two years, and will be extended at the end of 2015. In January this year, the European Commission proposed to extend the double-reaction measures for another 24 months. Member states voted to continue to impose countervailing duties, but 18 member states voted against extending anti-dumping measures for 24 months.
