Long-term development of wind power industry urgently needs to be laid

At the 2013 Beijing International Wind Energy Conference held recently, Wang Jun, Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Division of the National Energy Administration stated that with the rapid development of the wind power industry in recent years, the existing power system operation and management system is not suitable for large-scale operations. The problems of wind power grid-connected demand, lack of integrated planning for various power supply plans, and the need to raise the level of wind power grid-connected operation have also become increasingly prominent, causing serious problems of wind curtailment and power curtailment. Quality and health are the basis for the development of the wind power industry and should be improved and improved.

The development and utilization of wind energy has many advantages. It can improve energy structure, increase energy supply, promote economic development, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect the global environment, and promote employment, especially to improve the employment situation in remote areas.

After many years of practice, the level of wind power technology in China has been continuously improved, and the capacity of stand-alone machines has been continuously expanded, and the cost of power generation has dropped drastically. It is estimated that by the end of 2013, the installed capacity of wind power in China will exceed 75 million kilowatts, and wind power generation will reach 140 billion kilowatt-hours.

Throughout the world, wind power is increasingly sought after by countries around the world. By the end of 2012, the global installed capacity of wind power reached 282 million kilowatts, with an annual increase of 44.6 million kilowatts. Wind power accounts for 2.6% of the world's electricity supply. The number of countries and regions developing wind power has also increased to more than 110, and the number of countries achieving large-scale commercial operations has increased to 90. In some countries and regions, wind power has played an important role in the supply of electricity. In 2012, European wind power met the demand for 7% of electricity, and the share of wind power in the United States also increased significantly to 3.4%.

Wang Jun pointed out: "At present, with the rapid increase in the installed capacity of wind power, the accidents caused by the quality problems of wind power equipment are also increasing. Therefore, ensuring the quality of wind power equipment is an important guarantee for sustainable development of the wind power industry."

First of all, actively promote the reform of power system operation and management, strive to achieve priority access to wind power, strengthen the research and operational supervision of the problem of abandoning wind and power curtailment in key areas, formulate targeted solutions, and compete for the introduction of a renewable energy quota system. Strive to use 2 to 3 years to basically solve the problem of curtailment of wind curtailment.

Second, improve the wind power development management system, strengthen the wind power industry planning and guidance, and ensure the steady and orderly growth of wind power. In recent years, the rapid development of low-speed wind turbine technology has enabled the development of low wind speed wind farms in eastern and southern China to form a considerable scale, creating a new growth point for the industry.

Third, strengthen the monitoring and evaluation system of wind power industry, and through the real-time monitoring of wind power development and construction scale and equipment quality, release information and guide the healthy development of the industry.

He Dexin, director of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, told reporters that as a new industry, wind power still needs policy support and guidance. China has a vast territory and abundant reserves of wind energy resources. It has the natural conditions for large-scale development and utilization of wind energy. As early as 2006, China had already implemented the "Renewable Energy Law," and it is a long-term strategic task to develop wind power and other renewable energy sources. Wind power development has only just begun in China and around the world.

The development of wind power requires changes to be applied to traditional energy management and thinking modes, conforming to the natural characteristics of wind energy, actively establishing wind energy forecasting and wind power generation, transmission, and power utilization systems, maximizing the use of wind energy, and reducing dependence on fossil energy. In fact, in Europe and the United States, the installed capacity of renewable energy power generation has increased rapidly in recent years, while the installed capacity of fossil energy power generation has dropped significantly. At present, European and American countries are all studying and formulating plans for the development of wind power and other renewable energy applications. According to the current development trend of renewable energy in Europe and the United States, people have reason to believe that such a goal can be achieved in the near future.
