Domestic car navigation maps used for the first time update [Full text]

Science and Technology Development Recently, Toyota announced the introduction of real-time update technology services for car navigation maps. This technology is used for the first time in the field of in-vehicle navigation in China and is also the first introduction of Toyota in markets outside of Japan. It is reported that this service will become the new service content of the G-BOOK smart co-drive system.

The G-BOOK Smart Driving System will be the first to launch a map update service in China. This technology will be included in the "National Expressway", "Road around the engine when starting the engine", and "The surrounding road to the destination" through the mobile communication network. The latest road data of change is released to car navigation. The user only needs to start the engine and the on-board navigation will automatically check if the current map is up-to-date without having to go to the dealership to update. At the same time, the G-BOOK smart sub-drive system will also increase services such as G-BOOK smart phone application service, inter-city expressway traffic information service, and mobile phone destination service, thereby expanding the service content from the previous 11 to 15 item. The smart phone application service enables the owner to directly control the car remotely through the mobile phone application.

Toyota said that the map update service will be used as a new service content for the G-BOOK smart co-drive system. The new Lexus car navigation system launched this summer will be used, and Toyota brand models will be introduced in the future.

It is understood that Toyota's real-time updating of this map is jointly developed by Toyota Motor R&D Center (China) Co., Ltd., Beijing Siweitu New Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Tuxun Fengda Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Denso Corporation.
