According to the US Cutting Tool Association (USCTI) and AMT's latest cutting tool market report (CTMR), US tool consumption in November was US$156 million, down 16.6% from the previous month and down 7.0% year-on-year. It is understood that the report released the US tool consumption data for the first two months of the month, covering 80% of the US tool market.

Specifically, the US cutting tool consumption in the first half of 2013 was US$1.014 billion, down 8.2% year-on-year. The consumption in January-September was US$1.5 billion, down 6.7% year-on-year. The data shows that the total consumption has narrowed, and the monthly consumption has fluctuated around 160 million US dollars.

Brad Lawton, chairman of the AMT cutting tool product group, said that the decline in the digital chain in November was partly due to strong sales in October. Compared with last year, this year's data is less volatile, and the overall trend of April and May to November is more moderate.
