Yangzi Petrochemical's olefin plant is currently implementing a comprehensive treatment project for the treatment of spent lye. The project is planned to be completed and put into use in November, which will make the ethylene spent alkali liquor harmless.
The original waste alkali treatment plant of the Yangzi Olefins Factory will produce the oxidation dioxide* and send it to the flare during operation, and there is still secondary pollution. For this reason, Yangzi olefin plant recently introduced an advanced wet oxidation process and implemented a comprehensive treatment and reconstruction project of spent lye. The new treatment method is to react the sulfides in spent caustic with oxygen in the condition of high temperature and high pressure, and finally produce harmless sulphate and water without causing secondary pollution.
After the project is completed, it will not only be able to dispose of spent lye from the ethylene plant but also the spent lye from the Yangzi Refinery.
