Project director Shamanin said that in the experiment, the product of plasma chemical synthesis was a nano-dispersed powder of a mixture of metal oxides and carbides. It was the basis of a new nuclear fuel material and had the characteristics that made it possible to build a fourth-generation nuclear power plant.
