Decoder: The decoder is a device installed between the floor trunk and the extension for decoding and isolation protection.

It is mainly used in digital systems. At present, there are two digital system decoding methods in the domestic building intercom manufacturers: intra-decoder and external decoder. The following two kinds of different types of decoding products from the decoding method, origin and other aspects of a simple explanation:

1) Decoding: Compared to traditional analog systems, digital systems have more capacity and better functionality. At present, the digital building intercom system defines each household as a searchable address. After the host enters this searchable address, the host strobes the corresponding household through a decoder and other related devices, and then rings and talks. , unlock and other functions.

Basically all of them use the above-mentioned method of decoding within the extension; many products that entered China in 1994-98 included Spain, Italy, and other countries. The product (which I call here the European system) basically uses the decoding method of the external decoder described above. The above two systems also appear in domestic products. The differences, advantages, disadvantages, and related improvements of the two systems are described below:

5) External decoding: The building intercom system of the external decoder has a single decoder. The door host connects (series) all the decoders in the unit through the main line, and then branches from the decoder into the indoor of the household and connects the household extension. The basic functions of the decoder include: decoding, storage of address information, fault isolation, fault indication, audio strobe, etc. Because it includes the fault isolation and fault indication functions, the problems of the single household extension basically do not affect the normal operation of the decoder. The fault isolation function has great benefits for the maintenance and maintenance of the building intercom system. However, the wiring will be slightly cumbersome.

6) Internal decoding: Internal decoding system Since the decoder is placed inside the extension, theoretically each extension can be connected in series on one data channel, the wiring is very convenient, but in actual applications, the built-in decoding extension system has some very difficult to handle. Situations, such as: a problem in one household, will affect all households on the same line, and the problem is difficult to troubleshoot (because it is internal decoding, the extensions and lines that must be taken into the indoor area to inspect, and the wiring errors and other issues can also cause comparisons big influence). The manufacturers of internal decoding systems have started to increase short-circuit protection devices since 1998 (according to the manufacturers, they are also known as isolators). The specific method is to isolate individual extensions connected in series by short-circuit protection devices. After adding the short-circuit protector, the overall wiring structure is the same as that of the external decoder system (the host connects each short-circuit protector in series, and then branches from the short-circuit protector to each household's extension. This kind of wiring is called the intra-building bus wiring method. ). Some manufacturers of internal decoding systems have added functions such as fault indications to external short-circuit protection devices, which have led to gradual convergence of the wiring system of building intercom systems.
