Germany’s demand for solar photovoltaics will set a record high in 2010. In the first half of 2010, the estimated PV system installation in Germany reached 3 GWp, which will continue to consolidate Germany's position as the world's largest photovoltaic (PV) market and become an attractive investment company for PV companies.

In 2009, Germany had about one out of every two new facility modules in the world with a total of 3.8 GWp.

Germany's renewable energy law (EEG) further revised the tax policy for photovoltaics was adopted in early July 2010 and will take effect on October 1.

For rooftop PV installations, the tax rate is reduced by 13%. Since July 1, the tax rate for ground facilities has been cancelled.
