Recently, EnergySage released the semi-annual "SolarMarketplaceIntelReport" report in SPI.

Through the analysis of millions of data from July 2017 to June 1818, the report provides a unique perspective on the impact of the 201 solar tariff on US household PV users.

At the end of September 2017, after the US International Trade Commission believed that the US PV module manufacturers were damaged, EnergySage found that the price of household solar energy in the market began to soar.

Although the price has now started to fall back, the rate of decline is slower than before.

The consequence of this is that the cost of installing PV is now 5.6% higher than the cost of the original speed.

This means that for the average user, it is equivalent to an additional $0.16 per watt, or in other words, a standard 6KW photovoltaic system requires an additional $960.

After September 2017, the price of photovoltaic products in the United States rose, and tariffs actually brought US$236.5 million in taxes to US consumers.

Bloomberg New Energy analysts said that tariffs have increased the burden on the industry and forced it to fight costs for a long time.

PV costs have fallen across the US, but have risen in many of the better-developed states.

Although the cost of photovoltaics across the United States has fallen to $3.12 per watt, prices have risen in several major solar states such as Arizona, Florida, and North Carolina.

Panasonic and LG components are most popular

In the EnergySage data, Panasonic and LG accounted for 46% of the market share in the first half of 2018.

Japanese and Korean manufacturers have overcome the obstacles caused by solar tariffs and gained a larger market share with high quality and high brand awareness.

PV consumers are very interested in energy storage

70% of PV consumers expressed interest in installing home energy storage systems while installing PV equipment.
