Why do three-phase asynchronous motors have a ground wire instead of a neutral wire? Dalan Motor takes you to understand in a minute


The two connection methods of the three-phase asynchronous motor do not need a neutral line, why is it unnecessary to create a neutral line? Today, the editor of Dalan Motor will give you a brief introduction.

(1) The three-phase motor has no zero line, because the vector sum of the three-phase electricity is zero at any time. No current exists even if the neutral wire is connected, so the three-phase motor has no neutral wire.

(2) The reason why the three-phase motor does not have a zero line is because the voltage between the zero line and the phase line is 220V, and the required voltage of the three-phase motor is 380V.

(3) The role of the shell grounding is to prevent damage to certain phase insulation and make the shell electrified to cause electric shock.

(4) However, it is better not to use the same ground wire of the inverter as the ground wire of the motor, because the ground wire in some factory environments with heavy moisture may be aging and broken for a long time. There was a case in the past when a factory burned several inverters at the same time, and there was a phenomenon of strong electricity igniting the terminals of the inverter main board, which burned the main board. After investigation, it was found that due to a motor leakage, the ground wire of the factory happened to be rusty and disconnected. The strong current passes through the inverter ground wire and reverses the string like the inverter main board. Therefore, it is better to have a separate grounding point for the inverter, and do not share the grounding wire with the motor.

(5) In the TN-S system, the metal shell of electrical equipment such as motors should be grounded, that is, PE wire! A power supply system cannot be grounded and connected to the neutral line! At the end of the TN-S system, the voltage difference between the neutral line and the ground line may reach ten volts or even higher due to the three-phase unbalance and the influence of the third harmonic.

(6) The wiring methods of the three-phase motor are: delta connection and star connection. â–³ indicates the triangle connection method, which is to short-circuit the upper and lower terminals in the junction box to obtain three pairs of electrodes, and then connect the three-phase live wire separately. Y represents the star connection method, which is to short the upper three terminals in the junction box and connect the lower three terminals to the live wire respectively.
