In 1998, the European Union has identified the cobalt chloride as carcinogens in the second category. Blue silica gel with cobalt chloride in Europe and the United States has been banning to produce, and it has a tendency to be eliminated gradually. Orange silica gel has a strong capacity of absorption moisture. During the process of absorption moisture, the appearance of the color changes obviously according to the hygroscopic capacity. So it's often called "humidity indicator. "
